How To Find Model or RC Aircraft Hobby Store Near Your Areas?
by: H. Anderson
Sometimes you may want to buy some components/items for your model/RC aircraft projects and you want to get them fast or as soon as you can - basically you don't want to wait for days! For that reason it would be a good idea if you can try to buy from the model or RC aircraft hobby stores near your areas, say, from the stores which are located within 20 miles distance from your home.
Now what? Of course before you can do your shopping, you need to know the location of these hobby stores first. And if you don’t know any of them, you will need to ‘hunt’ them down either by using your good knowledge about the local areas or through other online and offline resources.
There are various approaches you can use to finding out the exact locations of any model/RC hobby store near your areas. Some of these commonly use approaches are outlined and briefly described as below:
(1.) Like most people you can use the internet search engine (SE) and directory such as Google, Yahoo and MSN etc. to carry out the search of these model/RC hobby stores.
As we all already known that the results of search returned by the search engine and directory are mainly depend on the types of keyword phrase we use in the search and how we have done the search. For example, search using SINGULAR and PLURAL keywords (e.g. aircraft vs. aircrafts) almost certain will give us two sets of very different search result. Also, search using synonyms or similar keywords (e.g. aircraft vs. plane) will find us different set of websites from the internet. Again, the types of search (e.g. Google broad match, phrase match or exact match) we choose to use for our search will cause different search results being returned.
It is important to mention that you should use the search engine of your own country rather that that of another country (e.g. www.yahoo.com vs. www.yahoo.co.uk) for the search of your local Model/RC aircraft hobby stores, because the results being returned from search using the same keywords are likely to be different.
Another thing you need to look for is to compare the organic and sponsored (e.g. Google Adwords) search results being returned from your search. It is very often that the types of website being return as organic search result are more or less the same through out the entirely week, while the search result of sponsored websites (i.e. those on the right-hand side of search results) are more changeable. Some of the examples of ads related to model/RC aircrafts and hobby stores sponsored by different websites are shown in the following table.
(2.) Through the use of particular websites such as this one (if you are in the country America): http://www.justclicklocal.com. Basically, the website will show you a series of street maps (i.e. like the Google Maps) for the area you are looking for model/RC hobby stores, and the locations and addresses of different hobby stores in the area.
(3.) Using your local directory, classifiers or newspaper. You can also search within the websites of any local flying club near your areas.
